Letter from the Mayor

Dear Fellow Mayors and Visitors:

On behalf of the entire City of Newark, it is a pleasure to welcome you to the City of Newark’s official webpage!

Our administration has pledged itself to creating the most efficient, responsive, and transparent government in Newark’s long history. Working collectively, we will empower each other, take responsibility for our families and our neighborhoods, and chart our new direction. Together, we will accomplish more than any one mayor could possibly achieve.

As we approach the 350th anniversary of the founding of this great City, it is truly appropriate that we look to both the historic past with celebration and the glorious future with hope. Technology may have changed immensely since Newark was founded in 1666, but the mission of our City’s government has not changed: to serve residents and visitors alike with professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness. Our web page will enable us to continue that mission, and I am proud to welcome you to our site.

Sincerely,

Ras J. Baraka
Mayor

Mayor Baraka’s Response to One Newark Enrollment Difficulties

Our parents have legitimate, serious complaints about the registration process. Students are being assigned to schools that are on the… [Full Post]
